It's getting hot in here .. . .

I am furious with Miss CF. She gave my blog address to her mother. HER MOTHER! I’ve told her several times this blog is supposed to be anonymous. Her innocent response, “well, you put it on the internet for the whole world to see?” I explained to her that my readers don’t know me, they sure can’t TELL on me! They don’t know where I live or where I work. She said, “But it’s on the net.” We will never agree on this; my blog is private. She was one of the only real life people who knows who I am. Where I am. Before she told her mother, I’d never seen a hit on my sitemeter from my “urban city.” Some folks even thought I was from New York. Now, I’ve seen four or five hits. I’m furious! Miss CF, this is NOT stuff you can share with your mother. Now, Mrs. CF, if you are reading this you know who Miss CF is in real life. You can fuss at her for all of the crazy things she's said. I’m boiling over this one. I might have to get a new blog and this time, NO one in real life will know that I’m writing it.. I don’t like “being discovered.”

On the other end of blogging, Joel helped me with the graphic. I'm still trying to make it work in blogger . . .It's soooo me.. . Everyone give Joel a virtual pat on the back for helping me! He's AWESOME . . .and ladies, HE'S SINGLE!

Sorry to hear about this. I can understand your desire to remain anonymous. I'm considering switching my blog as well to remain anonymous.

Indeed, I've already got another one up and running but I just don't want to make the switch yet. But it will definitely happen before I start teaching.

I don't blame you if you start a new blog. If you do, please shoot me an email with the new URL.

Let me know WHEN you start your new blog.

What really sucks is that you have all of this great content here, and have worked so hard to get it just the way you want.

What is it about people who think they can just *share* these things? Yes, it is on the internet, but EVERYTHING is on the internet! Miss CF would not want everyone to see...oh, her search history, credit card number, shopping history, pitures she may save to sites like snapfish and flickr..... Just because it is on the Internet doesn't mean it is there for everyone to see. The definition and purpose of the INternet is in the process of changing, and it is becoming far more personal and private than it was even 4 years ago. Miss CF needs to get with it and realize that.

Been there, can empathize.

Being "outed" is not cool. Perhaps you really do need to consider starting a new blog. I have a few friends--in other states--who know who I am. But I would never share that information with anyone locally. Anonymity is best!

Boo Miss CF! Please let me know if you change your blog. It's one of my favorites.

I agree with the others - anonymity is best for teacher bloggers. I'd be pissed.

Please let me know the URL if you start a new blog.

As for sustaining a social life while teaching, believe me, as soon as I figure out how, I'll shout it from the rooftops!
